Buddhist canonical literature; also Buddha's image and sutras, with special reference to those purporting to have been introduced under Han Mingdi; sutras probably existed in China before that reign, but evidence is lacking. The first work, generally attributed to Mingdi's reign, is known as The <Sutra of Forty-two Sections> [lang id =1028]四十二章經 but Maspero in <B.E.F.E.O.> ascribes it to the second century A.D.* * *佛教的經典。
